Read this: The Sewing Answer Book

The Sewing Answer Book review

Occasionally I’m asked what my craft of choice is.  While I have an unhealthy obsession with all things paper, my true love is for sewing.  And even though I’ve been sewing for quite some time (I learned on my very own Cabbage Patch Kids sewing machine, folks!), I still have loads of questions.

Fortunately, there’s a fabulous new book out called The Sewing Answer Book by Barbara Weiland Talbert (Storey Publishing, June 2010).  It’s 432 pages of questions and answers to every sewing dilemma I can think of.  With chapters on needles and thread, stitches, working with patterns, sewing hems and more, I can safely say I have a new best friend when I get stumped at the machine. Barbara’s tone is conversational, and the book’s small size makes it easy to leave out or carry with you. A definite must-have for beginning and advanced sewers alike!
